Most of our wines are offered to our mailing list members. A few cases are allocated to our distributors who then offer the wine to restaurants throughout the country. For a list of restaurants in your area check out the Restaurant Locator.

No, we are not open to the public. However, we do participate in many wine events, festivals and charitable auctions around the country. So, we encourage you to check our News page to find out about our upcoming event schedule.
Mailing List Members: Most of our wine gets allocated or set aside for our mailing list members. Since each of our wines is produced in varying, limited productions, not all of our wines may be available to all of our members. For example, our Single Vineyard wines are produced in extremely small quantities, which limits our ability to allocate them to all of our members, even if a member received our Appellation Wines. Members' allocations are based on date of enrollment and purchase history.
Restaurants:The remaining wines get distributed to select restaurants throughout the country. Because of their limited production, our wines are not found in every state. As our production allows, we will open new markets for our wine. Please refer to our Restaurant Locator for a listing of current markets and restaurateurs.
Since the answer to this question depends on factors ranging from crop yield and Mother Nature to the future purchase trends of our customers, we cannot give a specific time frame. However, we will make every effort to make the wait as short as possible and will advance Wait List Members in chronological order by registration date.
Twice a year, we send our offerings and newsletters by email only. In both cases, you will receive news, updates and instructions on how to purchase Kosta Browne wines. Please login periodically and check the information in your profile to make sure your contact information is up to date.
We purchase all of our grapes from local growers. We do not own our own vineyards. We have three main criteria when choosing a vineyard: location, grower's philosophy on grapes and wine, and vineyard management. All three of these are very important to us for a long, successful relationship. We are proud of our family of growers and their dedication to producing the finest wine grapes anywhere. Please see the Vineyard Sources page of our website for more information about our growers.
We recommend cellar temperature (58-62 degrees F) for the Pinot Noirs.
Each of our wines will age a bit differently. We generally recommend cellaring the Appellation wines for 6 months after release. The wines will continue to improve with age over the next 1-5 years and should be in a fantastic drinking window 8-12 months after their release in February. Our Single Vineyard wines, which are released in October of each year, will be drinking well upon release but should be cellared for 6 months to 5 years. If you do wish to open the wines sooner than that, we recommend decanting the wine for one to two hours prior to drinking. When cellaring, we suggest the wine be kept in a temperature controlled environment between 56 and 62 degrees F.
Please allow the wines some time to recover from the shock of shipment by giving them a few weeks of rest before drinking.
Kosta Browne Winery uses the best shipping platform to utilize the most economical, efficient, and quality-conscious shipment of wine to our customers. If your order needs to arrive by a particular date such as for a gift, or prior to travel please call us directly. We charge our customers only what it costs us to have our wine shipped to you safely and legally.
