2000 Vineyard

Pinot Noir - Cohn Vineyard Russian River Valley

Download Fact Sheet

The Cohn Vineyard is located on the top of a rock-strewn hill at the northern tip of the Russian River Valley. The vines are nearly 40 years old and produce deeply concentrated, layered, complex and mouth-filling Pinot Noirs. The 2000 Cohn Vineyard Pinot was our first commercial Pinot Noir effort and one that continuously makes us very proud. It is drinking at its peak today and should continue to drink well for the next several years.

Aromatics

The nose is brimming with aromas of dark cherry, plum and wild strawberry with hints of cedar and forest floor.

On The Palate

This wine has shed much of that primary fruit that is found in its younger siblings, the 2003 and 2004 Cohn Pinot Noirs. The palate is silky and mouth-filling with much of the aromatics carrying through; sweet, ripe dark cherry, plum, wild strawberry with hints of cedar, forest floor and vanilla. An elegant, luscious wine with a great acid and well-integrated tannin structure. A wonderful wine.
