The 2003 Cohn Vineyard Pinot Noir is our 4th vintage from the Cohn Vineyard. Reaching almost 40 years of age, the Cohn Vineyard produces extraordinarily deep, layered, and complex Pinot Noir. The vineyard is located at the northern most tip of the Russian River Valley and is a sloped vineyard on a hill-top with red rocky soil. The rich mouthfeel reveals a wide array of aromatics and flavors. This wine was aged in 100% French oak barrels, 45% of which was new oak, for 17 months.
Rich raspberry and cherry laced with creamy vanilla, white pepper, cola and a touch of wild mushrooms.
Juicy raspberries, cherry and sweet spice with an elegant, deep structure. The mid-palate runs deep with plum and ripe, black cherry finishing with lingering vanilla, cola and wild strawberries. Elegant yet deep, this wine will continue to evolve and drink well for the next 5-10 years. Savor this wine.
