2001 Vintage

Pinot Noir - Cohn Vineyard Russian River Valley

Download Fact Sheet

The 2001 Cohn Vineyard was made from vines nearly 40 years old. The 2001 harvest was one of our earliest Pinot Noir harvests, with the fruit coming in on August 31, 2001 at 24.5 degrees Brix. The grapes were hand- sorted and went through a 4 day cold soak and 9 day fermentation on native yeasts. Only 230 cases of this wine were produced. This wine is drinking very well and should continue to do so for the next 3-5 years.

Aromatics

Intense nose of dark cherry, cassis and Russian River spice.

On The Palate

The intensity of the nose carries on to the palate, which reveals a multi-layered, complex wine with rich, dark cherry, cassis, raspberry and blueberry with hints of sweet chocolate and cedar. Well-integrated and extremely balanced-a treat to drink.
