2002 Vintage

Pinot Noir - Kanzler Vineyard Sonoma Coast

Download Fact Sheet

The Kanzler Vineyard is located in the Sonoma Coast appellation, just south of Bodega Highway in Sebastopol. The vineyard, owned by Steve and Linda Kanzler, is just a few miles west of the Pacific Ocean and benefits from the fog and cool air that is funneled through a natural land channel known as the Petaluma Gap. The cool weather allows the grapes to experience a long hang time, developing strong aromatics and flavors. The wine is made up of three different clones: 667, 115 and Pommard.

Aromatics

The beautiful bouquet explodes with notes of red fruits, flowers and citrus, with subtle hints of minerals and earth.

On The Palate

This wine fills the palate with silky, luscious red fruits (bing cherries and ripe strawberries), orange peel, and baking spice. The finish is long and silky smooth, while the tannin and acid structure provide excellent focus, balance and purity to this terrific wine. Enjoy over the next 3-5 years.
