Our 2003 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a blend of three vineyards: Carinalli (75%) and Kanzler Vineyards (19%) from the Petaluma Gap area of the Sonoma Coast appellation, with the remaining 6% from the Amber Ridge vineyard in the Russian River Valley. The wine was aged for 17 months in French oak barrels (35% new oak).
Deep cherry, plum and vanilla are all supported by a core of cola, cocoa and clean, forest floor.
Spicy cherry and mulled stone fruit together with hints of cedar and tea fill the forward and mid palates with balance and elegance. Silky and round, this wine lingers with light vanilla bean, cocoa and spice. This wine continues to improve and will drink well for at least the next 5 years.
